noun: crimes against humanity
1. a deliberate act, typically as part of a systematic campaign, that causes human suffering or death on a large scale.
2. According to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court , an act can be charged as “crimes against humanity” when it includes: inhumane acts that intentionally causes great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.
At .HENDRIX1988, we are using this term to highlight a serious issue: Nigeria’s poor leadership since its founding. The country has suffered from corruption, bribery, and theft, with leaders evading consequences for these crimes. These are acts that all SYSTEM OF LAW on a global scale would agree to be “crimes”.
This project reflects our perspective on these deliberate actions that harm the nation we grew up in. Such severe actions should be seen as “crimes against humanity”, impacting not only the economy but also the mental well-being of the people. Actions this severe should not be taken lightly. They are crimes. They are crimes against the human lives that reside in Nigeria now and in the future.
